Charts: Porno takes top two spots
Last week, Porno Graffiti simultaneously released two best albums, “PORNO GRAFFITI BEST ACE” and “PORNO GRAFFITI BEST JOKER.” They managed to achieve the remarkable feat of capturing the #1 and #2 spots on the album charts, with “ACE” slightly outselling “JOKER” (105,000 copies versus 103,000 copies).

This is the second time that Porno Graffiti has taken the top two spots – they previously did it in 2004 with another simultaneous best album release. They are one of 19 artists with that accomplishment, but they are only the second to have achieved it twice. TM NETWORK managed it over 15 years ago with chart toppers in 1992 and 1993.
Remioromen’s new album also did well, debuting at #3. Others in the top ten included Motohiro Hata (#7), BENNIE K (#9), and Anna Tsuchiya (#10).
On the singles chart, Kanjani8 scored their 5th consecutive #1 single with “Musekinin Hero” selling 348,000 copies, their best first-week sales numbers ever. Kobukuro’s “Toki no Ashioto” came in second at 136,000 copies, followed by the debut single by comedy unit Yajima Biyoshitsu, formed by DJ OZMA and Tunnels.
New releases by SID and WaT were 4th and 5th in line, while Milky Way, Maaya Sakamoto, and Haruka Tomatsu made the bottom three spots of the top ten.

Porno Graffitti: Best Ace and Best Joker

PORNO GRAFFITTI (ポルノグラフィティ) has announced to release two greatest hits, PORNO GRAFFITTI BEST ACE and PORNOGRAFFITTI BEST JOKER, on October 29th.
These will be the first greatest hits in about four years and three months since they’ve released PORNO GRAFFITTI BEST RED’S and PORNO GRAFFITTI BEST BLUE’S in July 2004. The albums will collect 14 single numbers which were released after “SISTER (シスター)” released in September 2004. Additionally, a new song will be included in each album; ACE will contain “A New Day”, and JOKER will contain “Yakusoku no Asa (約束の朝).”
Celebrating its 10th anniversary since their debut, PORNO GRAFFITTI is now holding a “10th Anniversary Project” to commemorate the band’s anniversary year. The anniversary shows entitled Yokohama Awaji Romance Porno ‘08- 10 Year’s Gift (横浜・淡路ロマンスポルノ ‘08 -10イヤーズギフト-) have been started on September 6th at Yokohama. And they are planning to announced their future plan at Awajishima(淡路島) show on September 15th. Let’s look forward to their aggressive activities.

Do As Afinity: The Comeback
The popular band Do As Infinity is getting back together, it was announced on Saturday. The group made a surprise appearance at a-nation to break the news, though it was also revealed on their official website.
Led by vocalist Tomiko Van, the group was active between 1999 and 2005. This past spring, the group’s members and staff met again, and they began discussing the possibility of a reunion. They have chosen September 29 as the date they officially resume activities, starting with a free show at Yoyogi Park on September 30.
The band plans to focus on live performances in the future, but they also aim to release new material next spring.
Akihito Okano of Porno Graffitti is Getting Married — Whaat???!!!
One of Japan’s most eligible bachelor will get married this month. Akihito Okano of the popular duo Porno Graffitti is set to get married anytime this year. His partner is around her 20’s according to Tokyo Graph.
Raction: I really can’t believe this! This REALLY ruined my entire day! Why??!! The girl is in her 20’s? OMG! That’s almost twice as Akihito-san’s age! I’m also in my 20’s I wish we could have met before he got married!

The second song is the 23rd single from Porno Graffitti “Anata ga Koko ni Itara” used as theme song for an upcoming movir “Naoko” “Naoko” is based on the manga of the same name by Nobuhiro Sakata and Yu Nakahara. It tells the story of a talented young runner (Haruma Miura) whose father died trying to save a girl named Naoko Shinomiya (Ueno).
The “Anata ga Koko ni Itara” single is scheduled to go on sale February 14. The movie opens in theaters the same month. It debuted at the no.1 spot in the Oricon charts

5. Natsu no Yuutsu – This one's like an old-school song. Kinda makes you reminisce about the past, very nostalgic. I like the guitar sounds in this one.
10. The 4th Avenue Cafe – This song is part of Rurouni Kenshin's OST, need I say more? It's definitely good, one of the best songs of the group. Very upbeat and funky.
11. Niji – Another song from RK, this time it's from the OST of Rurouni Kenshin the Movie. It's kinda slow-rock and emotional but you'll never get tired of listening to this song. Hyde's vocals is really top notch in this song!
12. Winter Fall – Another upbeat song of this group. I really like the sound of the guitars and drums in this song. It was played to blend well with Hyde's voice.
