Durarara
Plot:
Mikado RyĆ«gamine is a young man who longs for the exciting life of the big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi, he transfers to a school in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Masaomi warns him about people he doesn’t want to cross in the city: a violent man dressed like a bartender, an information merchant, and a mysterious gang called “Dollars.” And to top it off, Mikado witnesses an urban legend on his first day in the city: the “Black Rider,” the supposedly headless driver of a black motorcycle.
Durarara started out great and has a great set of characters. Take for example Orihara Izaya who works as an informant and loves the human race to the point of manipulating Ikeburo, his rival Shizuo Heiwajima is a short tempered one and is the strongest in the city. Everytime they meet is a time of chaos. There’s also this pharmacist, Namie who is in love with her brother and eventually works for Izaya. Anyway, the story gets intriguing as each episode is shown. Not sure though if there will be a season 2 of this anime since the ending is kinda hanging. The head of a dullahan was still with Izaya and although his purpose was to wake it up by creating chaos in the city, this was not what happened though. Or maybe it only goes to say that evil won’t prevail. Dull ending for me. But it’s really fun to watch.
