Oricon: Golden Week surveys

Next week is Golden Week in Japan. With that in mind, Oricon conducted a survey of a thousand people, asking them a series of leisure-related questions.

When asked which actress they would want to go to an amusement park with, the respondents chose Aya Ueto as the #1 answer. Yui Aragaki, Masami Nagasawa, Maki Horikita, and Aoi Miyazaki were the next most popular choices.

Given the same question but with actors instead, the survey takers favored Yusuke Kamiji, who is currently popular for his character on “Quiz! Hexagon II” and as part of that show’s male trio Shuchishin. Hiroshi Tamaki ranked 2nd, followed by Ryuta Sato, Shun Oguri, and Yusuke Yamamoto.

Not surprisingly, the answers were similar for the next pair of questions, which asked “who would you want to go on a drive with?” For actresses, Yui Aragaki came out on top this time, putting Aya Ueto at #2. Haruka Ayase made the list at #3, ahead of Maki Horikita and Masami Nagasawa. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Tamaki was at the top of the actors’ list, again followed by Ryuta Sato and Shun Oguri. Yuta Hiraoka and Kenichi Matsuyama also made the cut.

The last question on the survey asked which song they would want to listen to during a drive. The top five were L’Arc~en~Ciel’s “Driver’s High,” Ketsumeishi’s “Drive,” Porno Graffiti’s “Haneuma Rider,” Judy and Mary’s “Over Drive,” and Yuzu’s “Story.”

The list includes Jang Nara. Here’s the excerpt -

Jang Nara:

“Having cast off the label of idol star and made a good impression as an actor, her last project in Korea was the drama Wedding. Jang Nara, who started her career as a pop singer, gained notice as an actor with the way she expressed the issues of a woman’s growth and identity in marriage.

“After Wedding, there were many new fans who wanted to see Jang Nara continue acting, but the star pursued her career in China, and her Korean acting comeback has been repeatedly pushed back. To that end, she was eager to reconnect with her Korean fans by taking on a horror-thriller film last year, but the production was delayed, and so another year passed by.”

Actress-singer Jang Nara (mostly singer in recent years) is making her acting comeback. She talked about her newest role on October 25 while participating at the new Seoul Hallyu Festival, and explained that she is currently preparing for her next film, a comedy that will begin filming at the end of the year.

This latest film, directed by Ryu Sook-hyun and called Size 55 (referring to a rather slim clothing size — think U.S. size 4), deals with Jang’s bar hostess character entering a diet center. Looking at its cast list, the movie seems to have run into some trouble early on — Jang’s love interest (described as a pretty boy who dresses like a woman to follow her to the center) was previously cast with Song Chang-eui (Boys Don’t Cry, Golden Bride) and then ex-GOD member Sohn Ho-young (Miss Gold Digger), but is currently looking for a new actor. Jang’s own role was previously taken by Park Han-byul (Fantasy Couple), but it seems she’s now out.

Jang was last seen acting in 2005’s KBS drama Wedding (her last film was 2003’s Oh! Happy Day), and has spent a lot of time since then pursuing her singing career in China. She also took a role in a Chinese drama, Good Morning Shanghai [純白之愛 / 순백지련], in 2007. She was cast in a film last year, the thriller Nightmare, but the project was canceled.
