DMC Midnight Madness Q&A

Kenichi Matsuyama at the Toronto Festival

There were a no. of questions asked to him like what kind of music he listens to – he actually listen to almost all kinds of music but his favorites are those of Hayao Miyazaki and Joe Hisashi. He was also kinda nervous when he met Jack because he can’t speak English and he said that the former even taught him some tongue tricks :)

Yakushiji Ryōko no Kaiki Jikenbo, lit. “Ryōko Yakushiji’s Strange Case Files”) is a series that consist of TV anime, mangas and light novels created by Yoshiki Tanaka and illustrated by Narumi Kakinouchi.

Plot:
The show centers around Ryōko Yakushiji, an elite police officer with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who had graduated from Tokyo University under its Law Faculty. She is involved with her subordinate Junichirō Izumida as they investigate cases that pertain to the paranormal and supernatural as they cannot be investigated with modern science. Ryōko works with her colleagues, including her rival Yukiko Muromachi, alongside JACES security forces personnel and her personal maids Lucienne and Marianne to resolve the cases before they go out of hand.

I find this series really interesting, especially everytime Ryoko would attempt to flirt Izumida-kun which always ended up in a failure because the latter is so dense. I also like her nonsense confrontation with Muromachi-san. My fave episode so far is episode 5, a story about Mana, Izumida-kun’s cousin who has a crush on him *giggles*
