Paradise kiss is the sequel to Ai Yazawa’s previous work Gokinji Monogatari which is about the story of Miwako and Arashi? Or was it Tsutomu? I’m getting confused here.

There’s also an anime adaptation of this one consisting of 50 episodes and even a movie in 1995.

Though I am not a Miwako fan, I think this might be worth watching. I wonder where I can get this anime?!  I haven’t encountered any blog that featured this. This is a vintage title, what can I expect…

Conan-kun does a public relations campaign for the japanese government for gradeschool and high school students to educate children about the ministry’s mission in a pamphlet called “Detective Conan Investigates the Ministry of Foreign Affairs!”

According to animenewsnetwork.com:

In the pamphlet, the father of Conan’s girlfriend is traveling abroad when his luggage and passport gets stolen and he gets caught in an apparent riot with gunshots. The ministry saves the day by issuing a new passport and informing him that “Country A” is just celebrating a festival with firecrackers.

The pamphlet credits list Masaru Ota and Kazuhiro Kubota (staff artists of Conan creator Gosho Aoyama) for the art. The ministry plans to distribute the 5000 copies of the 16-page, half-B5-sized pamphlet to elementary and junior high school students on field trips to the ministry and other occasions. The pamphlet cost the ministry 5 million yen (US$41,000) to produce.

There’s a pdf file that can be downloaded in the MOFA website

Right now though, I have been well, trying to blog as much as I can. Compared to other blogs, I haven’t been able to give more details and thoughts to the animes that I have watched. I will try hard on my next entries moving forward. Gambarimashou!

My impression on this anime is that it’s actually serious – but it’s not, I mean it is, but I found myself laughing at times. The animators have this unique way of making the characters deformed – or chibi. It’s quite unique and wonderful. There are scenes that I thought the pacing is quite fast, think for example on how Yukari liked Geaorge. Was it in the 2nd or 3rd episode that they actually make out? Oi oi… But if you think about it, that could probably happen in real life. Shitsurei ne for being conservative. Yappari saigo made Yukari to George never ended up with each other. A reasonable ending I would say – Yuakari is being stuck up – see how she treats kaori? And I think George could never be satisfied with a girl like Yukari, perhaps because he got her in the flick of his fingers…

On a different note, the animation is good as well as the OP and ED music.

Vampire story with a twist. It’s that kind of 90’s anime that’s very nostalgic in terms of the drawing style. I thought at first that this is somehow funny but it’s not! Waaaah! I found myself bored a lot of times! I ended up pressing the fast forward button. Also, the endings are quite morbid and sad. Well, it’s probably the author’s approach to have a different style. But the final ending is really weird! All of Miyu’s friends died! I’ve never seen such a lame ending…

A different kind of anime compared to the previous ones that I’ve watched. Think Sadako go online. Sugoi deshou? Grudges online?! Haha. But this is no laughing matter if ever the jigoku tsushin is true. What woudld ever happen to humanity? I guess there wouldn’t be so much souls to go into heaven – they will be cramming in hell! And even the good souls would go there too! Taihen desu yo!

There’s also the 2nd season – Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori (I hope I got the title correctly). Compared to the first season, Enma’s allies play a more vital role here. I haven’t seen the whole season yet – just watched the first three episodes. But nevertheless, this anime is worth watching.
